The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 at the time of his arrest last February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida under suspicion of rock throwing against settlement residents, claims he consistently denied. The US state department applauded Mohammed's liberation. Mohammed, now 16, was taken to hospital for treatment immediately after release, relatives told the media. Family described him as pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity. Through an official statement, the youth's uncle conveyed their "immense relief". The uncle, Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "surviving a terrible, unending nightmare" throughout the past nine months. "At this moment, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care he requires after being subjected to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment over several months." The state department said it would continue to extend consular services to Mohammed's family. {"The Trump Administration has no higher priority to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," the department emphasized. Several congressional representatives had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, requesting additional efforts to secure his release. The father, with four children operating an ice cream shop in Florida, previously said his son only confessed about rock throwing because the soldiers beat him. The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed since the arrest, and only heard about his son's condition through judicial records. The teenager remained lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary on the West Bank. The facility also contains grown detainees, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities and homicide. There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees being held in Israeli jails, per correctional service statistics. Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, including UN bodies, say some have suffered abuse and torture. Following Mohammed's release, family representatives announced they would maintain their efforts demanding accountability for their family member Sayfollah Musallet. The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials died from beating by radical settlers amid clashes in July. Initially, defense forces stated officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian had been killed. The two cousins had worked together within the family's frozen treats establishment in Tampa, Florida. No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death. "We demand the American government to ensure our family's safety," the uncle stated.
